A creative collaboration between ILBIJERRI Theatre and Polyglot Theatre, HEADHUNTER is the story of two Indigenous young people, Gina and Rick, who are in a car and on the road. Since Grandma passed away they have a few things to sort out and a couple of secrets they are not willing to share. A lot can happen when you’re in the middle of an adventure and the boot of the car becomes heavier and heavier, threatening to spill their secrets onto the tarmac.
Naturally with all good road trips, the physical journey is only as important as the emotional and spiritual journey that these two cousins share with each other, learning to grieve the loss of their grandmother, but also learning to celebrate her life, and their culture. Through the magic of puppetry, HEADHUNTER brings an indigenous story to life. With a funky set and urban music, this play is the ultimate road trip.
