Applications are now open for new members to join ILBIJERRI Theatre Company’s cast of creative facilitators for an upcoming touring theatre project, THE SCORE.

This project ‌begins‌ ‌with‌ ‌a ‌performance‌ ‌‌of THE SCORE,‌ ‌‌a ‌twenty‌-minute‌, high‌-energy‌ ‌play‌ with a positive sexual health message about avoiding and treating STIs, as part of ILBIJERRI’s Social Impact program made with the support of the Department of Health & Human Services.

It’s set‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌world‌ ‌of‌ ‌a‌ ‌football‌ ‌knockout‌ ‌carnival, where Billy hooks up with Sam  – and the end is anyone’s guess! This is because the‌ ‌audience‌ ‌is ‌invited‌ ‌to‌ ‌consider‌ ‌next‌ ‌steps‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌characters in a yarn after the show. ‌Each‌ ‌suggestion‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌audience‌ ‌is‌ ‌played‌ ‌back‌ ‌to‌ ‌them‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌actors‌ (you) using ‌a‌ ‌dialogue‌-‌theatre‌ ‌technique.‌ ‌ ‌

Community‌ ‌members‌ are then encouraged to ‌join‌ ‌the‌ ‌project‌ as‌ ‌cast,‌ ‌story‌ ‌advisers‌ ‌and‌ ‌community‌ ‌champions‌ and through ‌facilitated‌ ‌skills‌ ‌development‌ ‌workshops‌ ‌(conducted by the cast) over‌ ‌35‌ ‌days,‌ ‌new‌ ‌characters‌ ‌and‌ ‌storylines‌ ‌are‌ ‌introduced‌ ‌by‌ ‌Community‌ ‌participants‌. ‌The‌ ‌cast‌ ‌will facilitate skills‌ ‌building‌ ‌workshops‌ ‌for‌ ‌participants‌ ‌in‌ ‌storytelling,‌ ‌theatre‌, ‌performance,‌ and ‌writing.  This culminates in a new version of The Score specific to each Community.
