ILBIJERRI CASTING CALL-OUTS
ILBIJERRI currently has not one, not two, but three great opportunities for mob of different acting experience levels to join some amazing projects we’ve been working on. We can finally get these shows onto the road, right across Victoria!
All shows are specifically made for mob – from the very littlest kids, to teens and young adults, and one especially for the Aunties in your life.
These works will take place in some very familiar settings – but a bit different from usual theatre venues you might expect. We’ll be taking them to health hubs, community centres, schools and even a football club – on separate tours across Victoria later in 2022.
If you meet the application criteria for more than one project, you are welcome to apply to double your chances to work with ILBIJERRI – Australia’s longest-running First Nations theatre company.
PROJECT 1: GOODBYE AUNTY FLO
Mid-level or experienced female performers who want to be involved in this women’s business story-telling theatre tour. This opportunity is open to Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Pacific Islander artists Australia-wide, aged 35 and older.
PROJECT 2: THE SCORE
We are looking for new members to join ILBIJERRI Theatre Company’s cast of creative facilitators for an upcoming touring theatre project, THE SCORE. This one is for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander performers who want to develop their craft as facilitators, or facilitators with acting experience, or anyone else comfortable both acting and facilitating. All ages and genders, Victoria based applicants only.
PROJECT 3: ILBIJERRI ENSEMBLE
We are looking for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people aged 17 – 30 years, based in Victoria, who are interested in learning how to facilitate workshops for kids. Ensemble members will be trained how to run kids workshops, then tour workshops and performances into primary schools for 10 – 12 year olds.
