Dear friends and family of ILBIJERRI Theatre Company,

We hope that you are all well and safe at this time of swift change, propelled by the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our thoughts are with our friends across the arts sector dealing with the sudden cancellation of so much work that months of love, sweat and tears has gone into, and with all those now out of work due to cancellations and closures.

Our thoughts are also with all who are rendered more vulnerable in these uncertain times; In particular our First Nations family, friends and communities around the country. We are heartened by the strength of all our communities who are already coming together and holding each other up.

ILBIJERRI will be continuing to operate, with staff working from home. The specific implications for each of our many projects is currently being worked through and we will endeavour to keep communication open for all those affected by the changes.

We are considering how we can continue to support First Nations artists and contractors through this period.

We cannot fill houses, but there is still much work to be done in advocating for, and scaffolding, the longer-term resilience of First Nations theatre-making, for the benefit of everyone in our communities.

Stay well, stay deadly and wash your hands,
