RESISTANCE RISING

A Panel of First Nation Speakers

RESISTANCE RISING

Brunswick Town Hall, 233 Sydney Road, Brunswick
18 April 2015, 6:30 PM

In the face of a recent escalation in the brutality of colonial violence against Aboriginal people in Australia there has been a renewed groundswell of grassroots Aboriginal resistance. The Indigenous Social Justice Association – Melbourne and Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance present a panel of prominent Aboriginal activists and leaders from across the country.

Join Lex Wotton, Meriki Onus, Linda Kennedy, and Nayuka Gorrie who will discuss stopping deaths in custody, the struggle against WA community closures, strategies for decolonisation and Aboriginal sovereignty. In a discussion chaired by Arika Waulu, speakers will relate their experiences and share their vision for further avenues of activism defined and controlled by Aboriginal leadership. Show your support for these proud and passionate activists and learn what you can do to actively support the resistance rising.

LEX WOTTON (PALM ISLAND)
