The ILBIJERRI team is delighted to have officially welcomed Daniel Riley on board as Associate Producer.
Daniel, who is a choreographer, dancer, teacher and producer from the Wiradjuri nation of Western NSW, has been spending some time with us in the ILBIJERRI office since December last year, and officially started as Associate Producer in March, making the big decision to move with his family to Melbourne. Daniel brings a wealth of invaluable skills, experience and connections, having spent over a decade working at the highest level in the First Nations arts sector, as a senior artist with Bangarra Dance Theatre, where he choreographed multiple works and performed nationally and internationally for twelve years. Other companies that Daniel has worked with include: Sydney Dance Company, QL2 Dance, Third Row Dance Company UK and the Louisville Ballet USA.
Diving into the Associate Producer role at ILBIJERRI, Daniel has several works on his Producer’s plate. In the last couple of weeks he has pitched a work at a major industry showcase event, and produced a creative development.
Daniel’s role is part of ILBIJERRI’s Executive Leadership Program which is supported by Ian Potter Foundation and the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, and is designed to support a next generation of First Nations artists and arts managers who can take up leadership positions across the sector. The program includes mentorship and training as well as a broad range of hands on industry experience.
